Certificates and Exams

Spanish

We offer language exams to the university community and to anyone aged 16 or more who wishes to certify their level of proficiency in a language. Our level certificates are university certificates, issued by the UAB Language Service and recognised by all Catalan universities, the Catalan Government (Generalitat) and many companies and organisations. They are valid for obtaining credits at the UAB, and as proof of having the required B2 level in a third language, for universities in Catalonia.

Our exams are face-to-face.

During this exam period, you can take exams to accredit one of the levels of the European Framework of Reference for Languages. The levels for which you can take exams during this period are: A1, A2, B1 and B2

If the exam level for which you are interested in gaining accreditation is not offered, you can request a level on demand.

At least 10 working days before the first test in the exam, the SdL must receive the individualised recommendations report from the UAB’s PIUNE (or another recognised entity for such purposes), in which all recommended adaptations are clearly indicated. If this report is not received, or if it is not received in time, no adaptations can be made to the examinations.

EXAM RESULTS AND EXAM REVIEWS

Exam results

Results will be posted on 9 February, at 12:00, in the Student Records section (Consulta d’expedient), on the Language Service website.

Language Service certificates can be requested here when the grades have been posted, and are issued within approximately 7 working days.

Exam reviews
Candidates are entitled to an exam review. The purpose of the review is to show candidates their exams; it is not for negotiating the final grade awarded. Additionally, candidates can be given an explanation of how each part of the exam operates, the scoring criteria and procedures, and the criteria for passing the exam. Under no circumstances may candidates take away any materials shown to them; nor may they photograph such material.

The review period is on 12 February.

After the review, those candidates who may disagree with the scoring can submit a written appeal, addressed to the Director, at the administration office, UAB Language Service.

For this exams period, the appeals period is on 12 February.

Appeals are resolved by an appeals board, formed by the Director of Studies, staff from the Assessment and Certification Unit and a language teacher from the corresponding language section. Appeals are resolved within a maximum of three weeks.
