ICTA-UAB receives the María de Maeztu Excellence Accreditation
The director of ICTA-UAB, Isabel Pont, received the María de Maeztu Excellence Centre accreditation from the hands of the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant.

The ceremony, which took place during the General Assembly of the SOMMa Alliance, recognised the centres that have been accredited in recent calls. Isabel Pont was accompanied by Xavier Gabarrell, Vice Rector of Campus of the UAB and ICTA-UAB researcher.
The Severo Ochoa and María de Maeztu accreditations are granted by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICIU), through the National Research Agency (AEI), to centres and research units of excellence in our country. During the event, Minister Morant emphasised that these accreditations are "a sign of our country's gratitude to these institutions for the impact of their research on the well-being of citizens, their contribution to the development of a competitive and innovative industry, and their great capacity to attract national and international research talent".
She also highlighted the "profound transformative capacity" of these centres of excellence to address the country's challenges through science, adding that these accreditations, granted by the Spanish government through the National Research Agency (AEI), are "the highest recognition for centres and units of excellence, awarded after an extremely rigorous evaluation process".
