Science Safari
Participated by PLANTTES project from Punt d'Informació Aerobiològica at ICTA-UAB and Departament de Biologia Animal, Biologia Vegetal i Ecologia)
In the framework of the Biennal "Ciutat i Ciencia"
Date: Sunday, February 10th 2019
Time: 11 to 15h
Venue: From Besos river to the beach
The city is a place for coexistence, but it can also be a place for participative, playful and festive research. We propose a walk, stopping at different places along the route, including the beach and the river Besòs. We will gather data about our environment collectively, with the guidance and the resources of different citizen science projects combined with a joint proposal by the Ateneu Popular de Nou Barris and La Central del Circ, who will present the pieces in creation: Freqs, by Miguel García (on the bed of the Besòs), and Pulsacions, by the Cia Voël (at La Central del Circ), which present the circus as a place for scientific experimentation on movement and sound.
There will be activities for all tastes: a diagnosis of environmental quality, a study of allergenic species, an assessment of the presence of microplastics on the beaches, the city’s resilience when faced by natural risks. It will be a safari full of participative actions that will help us to get to know the city and its surroundings better.
Pulsacions (at La Central del Circ): performances at 11 am and 2 pm. Capacity limited.
