Are you a nurse looking to gain the necessary skills to lead nursing activities in the surgical area? Would you like to receive quality training to work as a professional in surgery in level II and III care specialties? Then the postgraduate degree in Surgical Nursing is for you.
The main objective of this degree is to enable the acquisition of general and specific skills required to provide specialist care for people who undergo a surgical process. To this end, the degree is taught by professionals who are experts in learning resources and practical training.
We also offer internships in distinct centres, such as level III hospitals, where pathologies of maximum complexity are treated. These hospitals carry out a full range of surgical specialties at the highest scientific, technological and humanistic level. In addition, workshops will be held at both classroom and hospital level, complemented by work sessions in small groups, offering comprehensive immersion in the field of research. You will then present your own research work, supervised by specialists.
The programme's schedule is as follows: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. from October until approximately March. After that date, the schedule will be mostly Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. until June. Clinical internships take place between January and June. Six weeks of placements are offered, mostly in the morning. Some afternoon placements are available. Those with proven experience in the surgical field can begin in November.

Internships
The work experience is compulsory and takes place in the professional atmosphere of an area of surgical area of the Vall d'Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital and San Rafael Hospital. The aim of the placement is to be able to put into play the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that are involved in students' ability to solve problems effectively and efficiently.
To achieve the objective and be able to evaluate it, the student undertakes a 6-week stay with the same working hours as the assistant nurse who tutors and evaluates, mostly in the morning. During this staging of their competence, the student will have to prepare a learning folder that will include a report of the learning achieved.
Clinical internships are carried out between January and June. If you have proven experience in the surgical area, you can start in November. 6 weeks of internships are carried out with a majority of morning hours. Some afternoon positions are available
