Ninth Christmas Concert of the UAB teaching centres
Description:
The 9th Christmas concert of the UAB faculties and schools will be held on Thursday 18 December at the UAB Auditorium. The concert will be performed by the Taller de Músics' ESEM Jazz Band.
Founded in 1984, this group is one of the pillars of the Taller de Músics programme and offers musicians the opportunity to acquire training and experience in a large-format group.
The concert is organised by the UAB Faculties and Schools and has already become a tradition at the UAB, a moment of celebration and meeting to end 2025 well and return stronger in 2026.

50th Symposium of the Spanish Economic Association
Description:
The Faculty of Economics and Business Studies of the UAB will host the 50th edition of the Symposium of the Spanish Economic Association (SAEe) on 17, 18 and 19 December. This nationally and internationally renowned academic meeting in economic research returns this year to its place of origin to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary. The conference will include 4 plenary sessions and 8 regular sessions, with 14 classrooms participting simultaneously in each session and more than 400 researchers.

History and stories about the transition to democracy
Description:
The Seminaris a l’Abast series is a dynamic and participatory training space where current issues are discussed. The series includes eight 2-hour sessions, independent of each other, with a total duration of 16 hours. Registration can be made for the entire series or for individual sessions, and can be attended online or in person.
On 14 January, the conference “History and stories about the transition to democracy” will take place, which will focus on the analysis of the transition from the Franco dictatorship to democracy, and the construction of stories that have been told about this period. The event will feature the participation of Carme Molinero, professor of contemporary history and former director of the Center for Studies on Dictatorships and Democracies (CEDID) at the UAB.

Second Performative Research Seminar of the Arts Campus
Description:
On 20 January, the UAB Arts Campus will be offering its II Seminar on Performative Research, a day focused on artistic research that will feature the participation of prominent agents from the academic and cultural fields. In addition to various talks, the seminar will include an artistic installation entitled “3D-Interactive”, programmed in the same auditorium thanks to the collaboration of the Cruïlla Chair. The organisation and logistics of the event have been carried out by the UAB Office of Commitment and Community.

FREECOVER: Workshop on waste recovery and 'science café'
Description:
The international FREECOVER project, in which the UAB Chemical Separation Techniques Group participates, is organising a technical workshop on 22 January, followed by a science café, focused on methods and technologies for waste valorisation and the recovery of critical materials. During the session, different approaches aimed at waste valorisation will be presented and discussed, with the aim of identifying possible synergies and defining the next steps of the project. After the workshop, at 7:30 p.m., the science café will be held at the CAU (Bar of the Vila Universitària), which will offer an informal space to continue the discussion, share suggestions and explore new perspectives in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Blended Intensive Programme + Masterclass 2026
Description:
Since 2019, the UAB has participated through the Master in European Integration in the "Cross-border Masterclass and Dialogue of Disciplines", a joint initiative by 18 universities in Germany, France and Italy. The activity brings together students from different disciplines who work on a common theme and culminates in a three-day face-to-face meeting. This year, the Masterclass will take place at the UAB on 28, 29 and 30 January. Moreover, the BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) + Masterclass will take place throughout the week, from Monday 26 to Friday 30 January, with academic activities scheduled throughout the week.
The inaugural BIP day will take place on 26 January. The session will begin with an institutional welcome by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Ricardo Esteban; Antoni Abat and Cristina Blasi, lecturers at the UAB; and Martina Camiade, lecturer at the Université Perpignan Via Domitia. In the afternoon, the relationship between artificial intelligence and gender will be analysed, as well as its effects on freedom of expression. UAB lecturers Lidia Ballesta and Marc Abraham Puig will participate.
