Projection "On The Wings of Brancusi"
Description:
The documentary portrays Constantin Brancusi, regarded as one of the most important sculptors of the first half of the 20th century, and examines his profound influence on contemporary American art.
Through testimonies from artists such as Carl Andre, Lynda Benglis, Ellsworth Kelly, Martin Puryear, Richard Serra, and Joel Shapiro, along with commentary on other artists influenced by him, the film explores his artistic legacy.
The project originated from the 1995 retrospective dedicated to Brancusi at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and includes footage of his recreated studio at the Centre Pompidou, as well as insights from curators and art critics who contextualize his work and its continuing relevance.
Free entry, limited by the room's capacity. The box office opens 30 minutes beforehand.

Secondary and Upper Secondary School Debate League
Description:
From 23 to 27 February 2026 the UAB will host the local phase of the Secondary and Upper Secondary School Debate League of the Xarxa Vives University Network.
For a whole week, 24 teams representing different secondary school centres will debate on the topic: Are younger generations becoming more sexist?
The winning team will represent the UAB in the final phase of the Secondary and Upper Secondary Debate League from 20 to 22 April 2026 at the University of Alacant.

Mental health is also occupational health: strategies to promote and protect mental health at work
Description:
The CCOO UAB organises a conference aimed at all members of the university community with the aim of raising awareness of an issue that affects us more and more every day and is present in our daily lives in terms of occupational health. The conference will take place on 24 February from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Sala G6/002 of the Faculty of Education. It will include the participation of three experts who will speak on their experiences and viewpoints: Magda Casamitjana, director of the National Pact on Mental Health of the Catalan government; Sílvia Edo, lecturer in Basic Psychology at the UAB; and Clara Llorens, lecturer in Sociology at the UAB.

Preview "ORWELL: 2+2=5"
Description:
Set around the last months of George Orwell's life, the documentary follows the author's creative processes and obsessions while writing 1984, his dystopian novel that has marked contemporary culture. Through archival photographs, film fragments, Orwell's own texts and current images, Orwell: 2+2=5 reveals how concepts such as doublethink, thought crime, the new language and the omnipresent presence of 'Big Brother' are still disturbing and relevant to understanding today's world and the ways in which power and the way in which power.

Learn about SUGAR software for archaeological data management
Description:
The Department of Prehistory of the UAB, through its CEPAP research team, is organising during the month of February the first free face-to-face training courses in SUGAR (Unified Software for Archaeological Management), a tool the team developed for the integrated management of archaeological data generated during fieldwork and research.
The courses are aimed at students, researchers and heritage professionals, as well as museums, companies and public administrations.
Three training sessions will be offered:
- 10 February: addressed to all UAB community members.
- 17 February: addressed to non-UAB students and researchers.
- 25 February, addressed to members of the public administration, museums, and archaeology and heritage companies.
A complementary SUGAR course is also offered online as a MOOC course on the Coursera platform, for those interested in learning how to use SUGAR at their own pace.

Webinar on Industrial Doctorates: research with a future and business collaborations
Description:
The Industrial Doctorates Programme is an initiative of the Government of Catalonia that aims to boost collaborations between the academic sphere and the business sector through research projects conducted jointly by the university and private companies or institutes. This model allows doctoral students to carry out their PhD thesis in a practical environment, favouring transfer of knowledge to and competitiveness in the productive sector.
With the aim of communicating a new call and sharing successful experiences, the Parc de Recerca UAB organises this online seminar aimed at researchers and companies interested in participating in the programme.
The session will include the participation of Jordi Alba, technical director of the Industrial Doctorates Plan of the Government of Catalonia, who will present all the details of this 2026 call. Also speaking will be Beatriz Farrús, director of the UAB School for Doctoral Studies, who will talk on the institutional support provided by the University. Successful cases from previous years will also be presented.
