This strategic initiative pursues the objectives of generating data-driven knowledge to facilitate informed decision making, identify areas for improvement, and propose measures that contribute to the professional development of faculty and the academic success of students.

The first study in the series will focus on absenteeism in UAB university classrooms, a growing problem that, according to José Luís Muñoz Moreno, vice-rector for Training and Teaching Innovation, "directly affects academic performance, student motivation, and the effectiveness of teaching and learning processes.

The ICE focuses on the training of teachers and lecturers in the Catalan education system, as well as on the promotion of educational innovation and the transfer of knowledge to this sector. With this new line of action, the ICE also reinforces its role as a driver of internal improvement, looking inward to the UAB itself, and bringing the benefits directly back to its community.

This new line of action is aligned with other UAB strategies, particularly in the field of teaching innovation and quality, social responsibility, and the university community. It also contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting SDG 4 dedicated to Quality Education.

The project, which receives the support of the UAB Social Council, reinforces the UAB's commitment to teaching innovation and knowledge transfer, consolidating the ICE as a key structure for the educational quality of the institution.
