Official Master's Degree in Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity
The official master's degree in Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity aims to meet the expectations of a socially relevant area such as sports and physical exercise, which in the past decades has become consolidated as a research and application field in psychology. On the one hand, the objective of psychology of sports is to improve the performance and wellbeing of athletes by teaching psychological techniques and strategies, and works on an indirect intervention by offering assessment to families, trainers and directors so that athletes can experience better development and performance at a personal level. On the other, the psychology of physical activity helps professionals in health sciences and physical activity to establish an active lifestyle for the population in general, thus improving their quality of life and preventing sedentariness.
The master's degree's fundamental objective is to provide students with the skills and competences needed to conduct research, evaluations and interventions in the field of psychology of sport and physical activity, always from a professional perspective accredited by the degree previously obtained by the student.
This master's degree does not qualify students to practice the regulated profession of General Health Psychology.
