Ideal student profile
Students with a knowledge of French at level B1 or higher who wish to acquire a diversity of theoretical and applied knowledge of French, its historical, literary and cultural context, and especially French teaching techniques at different educational levels. Students must hold an undergraduate degree (Bachelors or Pre-EHEA) in French Studies, Translation, Language and Literature, Humanities, Education, Teaching Methods, Psychology or equivalent qualifications. Exceptionally and when duly justified, other profiles may be considered; for example, graduates in other areas who wish to train in teaching French for specific purposes (Legal French, Commercial French, etc.).

Specific skills

Apply linguistic training in French as a Foreign Language to the analysis of the production of students of French as a Foreign Language.

Analyze the social, cultural and linguistic dimensions of various training situations in the context of a very good level of French, including situations which demand intermediation, mediation between languages and/or the management of plurilingualism and multiculturalism.

Design a programme and include teaching sequences or units.

Select and use existing teaching resources with the aim of planning and carrying out teaching activities and adapt and produce teaching resources in different formats (written, audio, multimedia) which can be used for teaching practice and teaching of French as a foreign language.

Conceive and develop teaching sessions in French as a foreign language and linguistic diversity using authentic documents.

Design, apply and use different evaluation techniques (formative, summative, etc.) for French as a foreign language and linguistic diversity.

Examine cultural and literary production in the French language.
Cross-curricular skills
- Work individually and in teams, being able to analyze, interpret and synthesize the data and information generated.
- Organize and plan the content of a work of research (article, monograph) and/or an oral presentation (class, report, paper).
- Analyze critically a specific scientific issue based on historical and cultural sources.
