This 12-credit module is mandatory for all master's students and represents the final expression of what students have learned in the master's program. The objective of this work is for students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for the realization of work in the field of interpreting.

Specifically, it is intended for students to demonstrate a systematic knowledge of basic fields of study and mastery of associated skills and methods; to use specific resources to support study, work, and research appropriately in professional and academic contexts; and finally, to solve problems in new or unfamiliar environments and in broad or multidisciplinary contexts related to the specialization.

3. AUTHORSHIP.

It is an individual project.

4. SUPERVISION

The module coordination will assign the supervisors of the final master's thesis. The supervisor is in charge of supervising the students' final master's work and ensuring its academic quality. Students must have the approval of the supervisor before submitting the work. If the supervisor considers that the work does not meet the requirements to present it, they will indicate this to the students and notify the coordination. In this case, students must register for the TFM again the following year.

5. DELIVERIES, EVALUATION AND PUBLIC DEFENSE

The work will be evaluated through three deliveries, which correspond to 20, 50 and 100% of the work. Deliveries are made through the TFE application, which is available at https://tfe.uab.cat/ and is accessed with NIA and password.

Each of the deliveries is evaluated. The last delivery is evaluated in a public defense, as established in article 230.7 of the Academic Regulations of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Title IX, University Master's Studies, establishes that "The master's degree must conclude with the preparation and public defense of a work master's final (...)".

This defense will consist of presenting the work presented in a summary manner for a maximum of 15 minutes and with the projection of supporting audiovisual material if the student deems it appropriate before a committee formed by the master's coordinator, the supervisor and another lecturer from the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, preferably a lecturer of the Master's Degree in Conference Interpretation. The members of the evaluation committee may ask and debate with the student the aspects they consider appropriate both related with the oral defense and with the written work, for a maximum of 30 minutes. This oral defense will be public.

For the evaluation of the master's thesis, the committee will take into account:

• The written work, evaluating both formal aspects (appropriateness of the language used, correct use of tables, figures and references, adaptation to the established length, etc.) and the contents of the work (conceptual clarity of the approach, clear and concise presentation of the different sections, ability to discuss and interpret the information presented, assessment of the bibliographic review carried out, ability to assess the significance of the work carried out). It will be valued if the work achieves solid and innovative results, its applicability and the achievement of the stated objectives.

• The oral defense, evaluating the clarity, conciseness and rigor of the expression, the quality of the audiovisual presentation if any, the adequacy of the established time and the ability to respond to the committee's questions. The qualification criteria will be based on the proposal of the members of the evaluation committee. The grades range from 0 to 10. The module will be considered passed if a grade equals or is higher than a 5. If any form of plagiarism or similar practice is detected in advance, the supervisor will inform the master's coordinator and the student and the defense will be prevented.
