Basic skills

On completing this degree, students will be able to:

  • Show possession of knowledge of industrial technologies, those for the management and organisation of production and the direction and administration of companies.
  • Professionally apply the knowledge to the analysis, diagnosis and resolution of problems in the management and organisation of operations and processes in real professional environments.
  • Collect and interpret key data on technology, economic and financial indicators and production processes in order to issue judgements, studies, reports, etc. that include reflections on socio-economic and environmental impacts, and which satisfy all applicable specifications, regulations and ethical principles.
  • Draft and direct projects in the area of the management and organisation of operations and processes, attending to the specifications, regulations and standards that have to be complied with and efficiently communicating information, ideas, problems and solutions, using Catalan, Spanish or English.
  • Develop independent learning skills so as to be able to specialise or undertake further studies of any type throughout one's career.

Specific skills

  • Display acquired knowledge of mathematics, physics and chemistry, of the different industrial sciences, and of the information and communication technologies required to understand engineering in industrial organisation.
  • Uphold the main laws, regulations and standards in one's area of the profession.
  • Design systems and processes to meet specified needs, taking into account economic, environmental, social, legal and ethical factors, safety and sustainability.
  • Use the methods, techniques and tools of engineering, especially the integration of IT systems for operating and controlling complex systems.
  • Manage industrial projects at all stages: from planning to evaluation; manage production systems, processes and devices to achieve practical, economic and financial ends.
  • Organise industrial companies and services, or any of their functional areas, with a strong focus on entrepreneurship and innovation.

Transversal skills

  • Communicate accurately and effectively, orally and in writing, in Catalan, Spanish or English.
  • Acquire new knowledge and techniques independently throughout one’s career, using information and communication technologies in the documentation process.
  • Work in multidisciplinary teams in different roles, with absolute respect for the rights of others and equality between men and women.
  • Lead and coordinate teams working in an international, constantly-changing environment.
  • Show a sensitivity to quality in technology.
