Today, March 8, UABràdio launches the first episode of "Guerrilla Feminista", a new radio program that was born to vindicate International Women's Day and address issues from a gender and intersectional perspective. This initiative, promoted by the Equality Commission of the Faculty of Communication Sciences in collaboration with UABmedia, seeks to create a space for dialogue and reflection on gender issues and current narratives.

Directed by Catalina Gayà, president of the Equality Commission of the faculty, "Guerrilla Feminista" is the result of a call for students to participate in this project, which has managed to mobilize former students of Catalina and current students of 4th year of Journalism. Although the team is made up exclusively of women, this does not respond to an exclusion from men, but to a lack of presentation of male candidacies.

The first episode, released today coinciding with International Women's Day, is about romantic love. Based on their own experiences, the members of "Guerrilla Feminista" approach this issue from a critical and self-critical perspective, with the aim of reflecting on the positive and negative aspects of this concept.

The program will have a monthly periodicity until the end of the course and will address several relevant issues from a feminist perspective. They will soon deal with topics such as "ruralisms" and other issues considered necessary to address reality from a gender perspective.

Through "Guerrilla Feminista", the team seeks to create a space for dialogue and confrontation of narratives that allows destabilizing patriarchal discourses and fostering critical awareness among the university community.

The first episode is now available on the UABmedia website.
