This week, Renfe is resuming the alternative road service for the R7 line between Cerdanyola del Vallès and Cerdanyola Universitat, with a stop at the UAB campus. Starting on 7 September, the train service will resume with a limited route between Montcada Bifurcació and Cerdanyola Universitat. With the start of the 2026/27 academic year, there will also be improvements to the bus services connecting the campus with surrounding towns.

The service will return with two trains per hour in each direction on weekdays, and one train per hour in each direction on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. In this way, according to Renfe, the company aims to ease travel just at the start of the academic year while the scheduled works by Adif continue.

Train service between Fabra i Puig and Montcada Bifurcació stations will be restored when Adif completes the planned station refurbishment and improvement works in December. In the meantime, passengers can use the R4 line and change at Montcada Bifurcació for the R7 line.

According to Renfe, passengers can ask for information about the restoration of service from station staff, train and station public address systems, the information lines 900 41 00 41 and 912 320 320, social media, the Rodalies app, and the websites rodalies.gencat.cat and renfe.es.

Improvements in bus services

Starting 7 September, the Ministry for Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition also will expand service on the 753 line connecting Manresa with the UAB, with the aim of meeting an increase in demand and encouraging the use of public transport for university commutes.

The improvement will allow the line to increase from the current 38 trips (20 outbound and 18 inbound) to a total of 56 trips on school days (28 in each direction). Of these, 22 will stop at Sant Vicenç de Castellet.

There will also be an increase of 14 services arriving at the campus on the Barcelona-Cerdanyola-UAB line (E3), and an increase of six services – bringing the total to nine each way – on the Sabadell-UAB line (B6).
