WORKSHOP
THIS IS NOT A HANDBOOK! TOWARDS THE PUBLICATION OF A VOLUME
ON GUERRILLA NARRATIVE AND OTHER COUNTER-HEGEMONIC METHODOLOGIES
This is a working workshop with the objective of planning the production of a collective volume (not an edited volume) on methods and practices for radical environmental humanities. Over several years and across various projects, both individually and collaboratively, workshop participants have been exploring the possibilities within radical — or undisciplined — environmental humanities. Ranging from the collection of toxic autobiographies to walking methodologies, from speculative writing to insurgent museography, the scholars involved in this project have experimented with diverse tools to foster not only more creative scholarship but, most importantly, more just socioecological relationships.
It is crucial to note that this volume does not intend to propose a canon for perfect radical scholarship in environmental humanities. Being radical and undisciplined implies breaking away from established canons, and the aim is not to create a new one (This is not a handbook!).
Throughout the workshop, the team will discuss the general concept of the book and the contents of each chapter, navigating between theoretical reflections, methodological tools, and concrete practices. The team welcomes feedback, criticism, and suggestions from participants, and it is open to including new co-authors interested in joining the project.
