Requirements

The UAB Barcelona Summer School is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, both local and international and UAB Alumni. All undergraduates must already have taken at least half of their first-year courses. They should also have a good knowledge of the working language.

Courses generally have little or no prerequisite knowledge required for a given topic, however if students face any doubts, we recommend they contact course professors to clarify.

The enrolment period for both the first and second term starts on January 29 2024 for NON UAB students. The registration period for UAB students opens in April. The deadline for the first term is June 2 and for the second one is June 25.

To enroll in a course, the student must present three documents:

  • A copy of the passport or Identity Card (ID)
  • A passport photograph
  • The transcripts of records of their current academic year.

UAB undergraduate students can enrol on a total of 12 ECTS credits: the equivalent of two courses - one for each period- which can then be recognised as optional credits on their degree. They cannot take courses that are on the study programme of their degree. Check the table of incompatibilities. UAB alumni will pay the UAB student course fee. Postgraduate students can take any course but cannot include it on their transcript. If you have any queries about enrolment, please write to summer@uab.cat.There is a 20% discount on the enrolment fee for students from, ECIU Consortium and CASA (Consortium for Advanced Studies Abroad).

Non UAB students who enrol before May 15th will get a 20% discount over the official price.

Students of the programme will have to attend at least the 80% of the classes in order to get the transcript of records, otherwise they will not get any transcript from the UAB.

Credit transfer

Courses are worth 6 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System).

In the case of international students, your home university can transfer these credits to your transcript (depending on its regulations), especially if it has a mobility programme in place with the UAB. Students of the programme will have to attend at least the 80% of the classes in order to get the transcript of records, otherwise they will not get any transcript from the UAB.UAB undergraduates should take the certificates for courses they have passed to the Gestió Acadèmica (Academic Management Office) of their faculty so that they can be recorded on their transcript as optional subjects. However, UAB undergraduate students will not be able to enrol on any course which is part of their study programme. The courses selected cannot be part of their study programme and they will be included in their academic record once passed with the qualification PASSED, that is, without numerical grade. At the UAB this qualification does not affect the average grade of the student’s academic record. The fee for these students is the percentage of the price of the official credit established in the Decree of prices of academic services. UAB undergraduates can take up to 36 ECTS credits for their degree, if it has a total of 240 credits, or 27 ECTS credits, if it has a total of 180 credits, at the UAB Summer School.

Students enrolled in the UAB Barcelona Summer School will get their academic record to the email address provided from 1 - 20 September. The issue of further copies will be subject to the payment of the corresponding fee.
