The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Quality appoints the Service-Learning (SL) Evaluation Committee for the 2024-2025 academic year. This committee is tasked with supervising and validating Final Degree Projects (FDPs) and subjects carried out in this modality. The committee will be responsible for ensuring that projects adhere to the methodology and criteria established by the UAB for Service-Learning.

This appointment reflects the institution's commitment to strengthening the quality of the program and coincides with two key initiatives: the creation of a specific rubric to assess the quality of Service-Learning projects, and the revision of the identification and follow-up form for SL experiences. The latter has been redesigned to improve clarity and facilitate the collection of evidence, as well as the analysis and evaluation of the projects' educational and social impact. Both tools aim to provide a clear and shared structure for evaluating projects, identifying the elements that ensure the experience reaches at least a basic level of quality across the three core pillars of SL: meaningful learning, reflection, and community service.

The evaluation committee will be composed of the following members:

  • Dr. Anna Soler Membrives (Faculty of Biosciences)

  • Dr. Paloma Valdivia Vizarreta (Faculty of Education Sciences)

  • Dr. Mariela Patricia Aguayo Gonzalez (Faculty of Medicine)

  • Dr. Santiago Robert Guillén (Faculty of Law)

  • Dr. Bibiana Juan Godoy (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine)

  • Dr. Gemma Guillazo Blanch (Faculty of Psychology)

  • Dr. Jorge Bernal del Nozal (School of Engineering)

  • Dr. Begonya Saez Tajafuerce (Faculty of Arts and Humanities)

  • Dr. Jofre Güell Bosch (Service-Learning Office)

The committee will meet regularly to ensure that SL projects at the UAB meet the necessary academic and social standards, promoting the connection between university and society and the continuous improvement of the projects. Dr. Jofre Güell Bosch, technical coordinator of the SL Office, will act as the committee’s secretary, managing information to support the evaluators’ work.

With this renewed structure, the UAB strengthens its commitment to Service-Learning and to the education of students who are aware of their impact on society.
