From 9 to 11 June, the Institute hosted the second edition of the "Basic Training on Miniscopes in Neuroscience" course, an initiative led by AnderoLab to bring cutting-edge neural imaging techniques closer to students and researchers.

Over the course of three days, 12 selected participants from different countries, including the United States, South Korea, Austria, and Portugal, gained in-depth knowledge of Miniscopes, a technology that enables the recording of neuronal activity in freely moving animals. The programme combined theoretical lectures with hands-on activities, including stereotaxic surgery exercises using simulated models and an introduction to the data analysis tools associated with this methodology.

The course was delivered by an international team of researchers from AnderoLab, who shared their expertise in applying these techniques to neuroscience research. In its second edition, the training programme once again attracted strong interest from the scientific community, bringing together PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and other professionals in the field.

Participants particularly appreciated the practical nature of the sessions, which enabled them to acquire knowledge and skills directly applicable to their own research projects. With this new edition, the workshop further establishes itself as a valuable opportunity for specialised training in state-of-the-art tools for studying brain activity.
