The projects are:

  1. Spatiotemporal characterization of fatty acid oxidation in astrocytes and brain metabolic dynamics (Dr. Roser Masgrau)

  2. Development of bioinspired polyphenolic membranes and their evaluation for targeted glioblastoma treatment (Dr. Víctor J. Yuste)

  3. Inter- and transgenerational effects of caloric restriction on synaptic plasticity, biomarkers, and vulnerability to cognitive dysfunction in the TgF344-AD model (Drs. Gemma Guillazo and Anna Vale)

  4. Study of the choroid plexus in immune and metabolic dysregulation in mitochondrial diseases: therapeutic innovations and multi-omics analysis (Dr. Emma Puighermanal)

  5. Affective integration in an animal model (Dr. Alex Taylor)

  6. Parvalbumin interneurons in aging and Alzheimer’s pathology (Dr. Arnaldo Parra)

  7. Epigenetic reprogramming of senescent microglia: consequences for age-related dopaminergic neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s disease (Dr. Carlos Barcia)

  8. Studying a mitochondrial link between GABAergiccerebellar dysfunction and Rett Syndrome (Dr. Laura Cutando)

The call, part of the Programa Estatal para la Investigación y el Desarrollo Experimental, aims to fund research projects that foster the generation of new knowledge, significant scientific progress and high-quality research, as well as the development of solutions to society’s current challenges.
