01.13 Escola Universitària d'Infermeria i Fisioteràpia Gimbernat

The Escola Universitària d’Infermeria i Fisioteràpia Gimbernat is an institution with a long-standing tradition in the education of healthcare professionals. Established in the 1970s with Nursing studies and expanded in 1985 to include Physiotherapy, it has been a pioneer in both disciplines in Catalonia. Located in Sant Cugat del Vallès, it combines tradition and innovation through modern teaching methodologies and close links with the healthcare sector, establishing itself as a leading institution in university-level health sciences education.

The affiliation of the Escoles Universitàries Gimbernat with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona took place in 1997, when the institution became part of the Catalan university system under the academic umbrella of the UAB. From that moment on, the Nursing and Physiotherapy programmes it already offered acquired official university status, while the School retained its own management structure and the degrees were awarded by the UAB.
