01.26 Escola Universitària del professorat d'EGB de Lleida
Escola Universitària del Professorat d’EGB de Lleida was established during the 1970s in the context of the modernization of teacher education studies in Catalonia. The institution was created under the academic supervision of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, which at the time coordinated the initial training of teachers through several regional centres.
Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the school consolidated its position as a leading centre for pedagogy and teaching methodology, promoting innovative practices and developing close collaborative links with schools across the region. The institution made a decisive contribution to the development of a university nucleus in Lleida, both through its teaching activities and through the gradual establishment of other higher education programmes in the city.
This process culminated in the creation of the Universitat de Lleida in 1991. The Escola Universitària del Professorat d’EGB was integrated into the new university as one of its founding pillars and became the precursor of the present-day Facultat d’Educació, Psicologia i Treball Social.
