The inter-university programme From Science to Market presents the projects of its 2025 edition.
Ten projects have submitted proposals covering areas such as deep tech, health, immersive technologies, heritage, educational digitalisation and the Internet of Things. The programme consolidates inter-university collaboration in knowledge transfer and scientific entrepreneurship among six Catalan universities.
Barcelona, December 2025 — The inter-university programme From Science to Market, promoted by the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Pompeu Fabra University, the University of Girona and the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia, with the support of the Government of Catalonia and co-financing from the European Union, has concluded its seventh edition, consolidating its position as a benchmark in training in knowledge transfer and scientific entrepreneurship.
Since its creation, the programme has trained 191 people in its seven editions, accompanying them in the transformation of research results into opportunities to promote their projects.
An edition focused on practical training, mentoring and connection with the ecosystem
The 2025 edition brought together 19 projects and offered more than 100 hours of practical training, complemented by 100 hours of mentoring, delivered by a total of 40 trainers and 14 mentors specialising in entrepreneurship, transfer, innovation and business development.
In total, 33 sessions were held, including workshops, practical activities and strategic visits to agents in the Catalan innovation and deep tech ecosystem, notably Pier01 – Barcelona Tech City, Acció, the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (BSC), Centre CIM UPC, the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit and Alba Synchrotron.
The programme culminated in a Demo Day, where 10 projects presented their results to academic representatives, mentors, university entrepreneurship units and actors from the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Featured projects from the 2025 edition
Five projects were presented at the De la Ciència al Mercat Demo Day that exemplify the potential of research talent: Alma, a wearable device with artificial intelligence and augmented reality that allows interaction with technology without screens and with greater accessibility; Brúixola CDD, a tool for planning and reinforcing digital competence teaching through diagnostics and personalised training itineraries; Cal.m.a Tech, bio-optimised lime-based biomaterials, free of petrochemicals, intended for bioconstruction and heritage conservation; ARTRIA, a 3D-printed biomimetic arterial model for testing stents in realistic conditions without resorting to animals; and LoRaMesher, a technology that connects devices over long distances without the Internet or external infrastructure, designed for Internet of Things applications.
