XIPE - Network of Interest in Ethnological Heritage

Created in June 2017 within the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the UAB, the XIPE – Network of Interest in Ethnological Heritage aims to bring together anthropologists affiliated with the Department who have carried out or are currently conducting research in this field. The Network is open to individual researchers —including academic staff, students, and alumni— who wish to take part in this collaborative space.

The main goal of XIPE is to establish an environment for communication, cooperation, and the creation of synergies to promote and disseminate research on ethnological heritage. It also works to digitise research outcomes and build a database of studies in this area, enabling collaboration with institutions and organisations.

In recent years, within XIPE and as part of the course Anthropology of Religion, Symbolism and Ritual, an Inventory of Rituals has been developed with the support of internship students and under the supervision of Virgínia Fons and Montserrat Ventura.
