On 5 April, the opening of the exhibition Centre Mèdic Distòpic InterSalut took place at the Sala Tarot de Quinze of the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts. This is the first exhibition produced as part of the ProjectAR-TE contest, organised by the UAB Department of Art and Musicology.

ProjectAR-TE

The aim of this contest is to work in the classroom, within the framework of various subjects, on the development of an exhibition project on a transversal theme (social rights, equality, historical memory, gender, etc.).

This year, the winning project was Centre Mèdic Distòpic InterSalut, produced by students of the degree in Socio-Cultural Gender Studies. The exhibition represents a liminal space between dystopia and utopia, between critique and proposal. It stems from a critical feminist perspective on science and the sex-gender system, aiming to rethink the approach to the body and the subject in health.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of activities throughout April. In addition to the guided tour on 12 April at 10:00, there will be two lectures. The first, titled Transgressive Pedagogies in Barcelona Classrooms, will be given on 15 April by Elisabet Pérez in the Faculty of Arts’ Aula Magna. The second, titled Intersexualities: Myths, Claims and Imaginaries, will take place on 17 April in classroom 501 of the Faculty, led by Laura Vila.
