The activity took place at Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava, a university that has stood out in recent years for its innovation activity and research results. In 2023, USV researchers obtained ten national patents and four international patents granted by the European Patent Office. In addition, the university holds the highest accreditation rating (“High degree of trust”) granted by the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS).

During her stay, Dr. Royuela Colomer delivered two training sessions addressed to Psychology students. The first session focused on fibromyalgia and chronic pain. Chronic pain was addressed, and the main protective and associated psychological factors were reviewed, as well as the most used psychological treatments. Several projects in which the AGORA research group participates were presented in this session. Among them, special attention was given to the adaptation and validation in the Spanish population of the Smart mobile application for fibromyalgia based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. The session also included a discussion on common clinical challenges in patients with fibromyalgia. The second session addressed body image and eating disorders in adolescents. Risk factors and protective factors were reviewed, as well as different therapeutic intervention strategies. The activity included the analysis of a clinical case that students were able to work on in class.

The sessions were carried out in collaboration with Dr. Andreea Ursu, Lecturer in Psychology at Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava, specialized in emotional processes and interpersonal relationships.

Dr. Royuela Colomer’s participation in this Erasmus+ mobility contributes to strengthening academic links between the UAB and other European institutions.
