Researchers at the UAB Sphere working on innovation projects based on research or who have developed a transfer project can opt for the Awards for Excellence in Knowledge Transfer during the UAB-NEM: Networking, Exhibition & Meetings, which will take place at the Open Science & Innovation Forum UAB-CIE.
Universitat AutÚnoma de Barcelona, in collaboration with the Friends of the UAB Association, the UAB Research Park Foundation, the Campus of International Excellence and the UAB Social Council, organises the first edition of the Open Science & Innovation Forum UAB-CIE, a networking area for industries and research which will take place on 14 November 2012.
The Open Science & Innovation Forum UAB-CIE aims to inform on the transfer of knowledge carried out by research centres at UAB, as well as foster the relations between this sector and the business sector. As a multidisciplinary forum, it will include several innovation fields, focusing on science, technology, the social sciences and the environment. The event will be an area to show the wide range of new technologies and knowledge acquired thanks to the resources of the university and its Research Park.
The forum will be divided into two main sessions. The morning will begin with UAB-NEM: Networking, Exhibition & Meetings, addressed to bring closer together the world of research and business and to allow researchers at UAB-CIE to establish contacts with professionals of the sector through personalised interviews, giving way to the creation of a cooperation network.
In the afternoon, participants can attend a conference and round table with professionals from the fields of knowledge transfer and innovation, with debates on the situation of these fields under the current university context. The forum will also include the first edition of the Awards for Excellence in Knowledge Transfer, with awards in the categories of "Best Transfer Action" and "Best Innovation Project". All UAB-CIE researchers with a powerful, competitive and quality project can enter to participate in the competition. Entries will be accepted until 1 October 2012.
