On February 4, World Cancer Day 2024 will be celebrated, the second cause of death worldwide behind cardiovascular diseases.
Every year, 2.6 million cases are diagnosed and an increase is expected during 2024. Prevention plays a fundamental role; approximately 40% of cancers could be avoided. At the state level, the net survival five years after diagnosis of confirmed patients during 2008-2013 was 55.3% in men and 61.7% in women (Source: Spanish Society of Medical Oncology).
