From April 5 to May 31, the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archives hosts the photographic exhibition "Dear Earth" ("Cara Terra"), lent by AFOCER, Agrupació Foto-Cine Cerdanyola-Ripollet.

"Dear Earth" is a solidarity initiative of documentary photography that aims to offer viewers a renewed vision of our beloved planet. The exhibition is born from the collaboration between the renowned photographers Joan Guerrero (Tarifa, 1940-Santa Coloma de Gramenet, 2024) and Cesare Pace. This project also has the notable participation of other talents such as Rita Biagioli, Mario Catani, Francesc Melcion and Simona Scardina.

The never-before-seen images that make up this exhibition have given life to a book that not only captures the beauty of our world, but also reveals how it has become our source of sustenance: a contemporary view with images of human interest where are shown the contradictions and inequalities that have an impact on the environment. The book has been published by the association Libri contro Fucili Onlus and can be purchased online: all profits will go towards providing a better quality of life to people who, in the words of Cesare Pace, "have only seen well-being in the television".

Joan Guerrero left us a few days ago, on April 3, at the age of 84. "Dear Earth" is his last major project, after a lifetime dedicated to photojournalism and social commitment.
