Family members of Rafael Tasis visit the Humanities Library
Two daughters and a granddaughter contribute new documentation to his personal collection

On the 19th of December, we were delighted to welcome the visit of Rafael Tasis’ two daughters, Teresa Tasis and Anna Tasis, accompanied by their granddaughter, Maria del Mar Moya Tasis. Throughout their stay, they explored the facilities of the Humanities Library and got to know closely the location of their family member's personal collection.
The Tasis Collection encompasses a significant portion of both personal and professional documentation of the esteemed Catalan writer and politician, Rafael Tasis i Marca. Principally, it comprises handwritten and typewritten manuscripts of his literary masterpieces, complemented by an extensive collection of correspondence and a diverse array of relevant documents from his professional and personal life. In its entirety, the Tasis Collection encompasses 3472 documents, with 2129 of them being letters, showcasing the richness and diversity of this archival treasure.
Beyond the mere physical exploration of the collection, this encounter took on a broader significance, as the esteemed guests augmented it with fresh documentation. This collaborative exchange has fortified the bond between the Tasis family and the Humanities Library, establishing a connection that we not only celebrate but hope to thrive in the years to come.
