The personal archives of the Occitan writer, editor, and translator, Bernard Lesfargues, has been enriched with the digitisation of new correspondence sent to the esteemed advocate of the Occitan movement, Robèrt Lafont.

Robèrt Lafont, an Occitan writer and politician, was a key figure in the defence of the Occitan language in the 20th century, as well as a notable poet, novelist, and playwright. Among his most significant works are the French-Occitan dictionary, the Occitan translation of the Odyssey, and other linguistic works of importance. His significant influence in promoting minority languages is clearly evident in his correspondence with Bernard Lesfargues.

In 2006, the Humanities Library incorporated into its Personal Collections the correspondence of Bernard Lesfargues (1924-2018), renowned for his significant influence on Occitan culture and Catalan-Occitan relations, primarily through his literary production in the Occitan language. Within this correspondence, the letters sent by Robèrt Lafont are preserved. In the course of 2023, through a fruitful collaboration between the Occitan Archive of the UAB and the Occitan Institute of Culture (CIRDOC), we obtained a digitised copy of the correspondence Lesfargues exchanged with Robèrt Lafont.
