Accreditation

  • Course certificate for Inicial, Bàsic, and Elemental levels.
  • To obtain a Bàsic (A2) or Elemental (B1) level certificate recognized by the Generalitat de Catalunya, you can register for our accreditation exams.
  • Intermedi (B2), Suficiència (C1), and Superior (C2) level certificate recognized by the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Characteristics 
On-site courses, some of them involve a significant amount of autonomous learning; these hours vary by level.*

- Beginner and Basic (A2): 30 hours
- Elementary (B1), Intermediate (B2), Sufficiency (C1) and Advanced (C2): 60 hours
- Prepare for B1 Exam and Prepare for B2 Exam: 24 hours (and autonomous learning)*
- Prepare for C1 Exam and Prepare for C2 Exam: 12 hours (and autonomous learning)*

Additional information
Prepare for B1 Exam, Prepare for B2 Exam, Prepare for C1 Exam and Prepare for C2 Exam courses have the support of an online teacher.
All courses include CIFALC exam.

Levels based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. 

Credit recognition
UAB Students: information. 
Other Students: Beginner and Basic courses are considered to be equivalent to 3 ECTS credit each one.

  • Profile: Open to everyone; it is not necessary to belong to the university community.

- Subsidies, discounts and conditions

100% subsidized for Teaching and Research Staff (PDI).
100% subsidized for UAB students and staff and mobility students, for Initial, Basic A2 and Elementary B1 courses.
15% discount for the Linked University Community (already reflected in the prices).

- Second and subsequent enrollments:

The subsidized price can only be applied once per level. If a person re-enrolls in the same level, they must pay the non-subsidized course price, but they can apply a €40 bonus.

(*) Total registration amount:
The final price to pay is the sum of the course price (with the corresponding subsidy already applied) plus €40 in administrative management fees.

- Official certification:

All courses (levels A2 to C2) include the official CIFALC exam (Inter-university Commission for Linguistic Training and Accreditation of Catalonia).

  • UAB students and staff: Students (bachelor's and master's), Teaching and Research Staff (PDI) and Technical, Management and Administration and Services Staff (PTGAS) from UAB faculties and departments.
  • Mobility students: Students coming to the UAB under a mobility program (Erasmus, Séneca, etc.).
  • Linked University Community: Amics UAB (Friends of UAB); Esfera UAB; Research Park; Alumni UAB; former students of the Language Service; Autonomous Foundation; and students, teaching staff and administrative staff from Affiliated Schools and centers affiliated with the UPC.

Banking procedures: Returned receipts and refunds entail management fees of €2.50, which will be charged to the account holder.

Important note: From August 1st to August 27th, inclusive, support for self-registration issues through My requests will not be available, nor will documentation validations be carried out, as the Service will remain closed during this period.
