Last Friday 22nd April, on the occasion of the celebration of Sant Jordi's Day on Saturday, ICTA-UAB awarded the prizes of the 1st Micro-stories Competition "ICTA-UAB in 100 words".

The jury was formed by Oriol Marquet, Michela Osnato, Susana Toboso and Jeroen van den Bergh, whom we thank for their work.
The winning works were:
- "ICTA = CAT & I" by Annie James.
- "Poema de cien palabras" by Esteve Corbera
- "Sancho told me about it, in the columns", by Felipe Parada
- "She began her PhD" by Jordi Honey Rosés
The winners received an Abacus voucher to exchange for books and/or office supplies.
One hundred is a perfect number of words; it is the perfect score, the basis of percentages, the boiling temperature of water, and the approximate number of words contained in the abstract of a scientific paper. Therefore, 100 are the words that we invited our members to use in each of the micro-stories that could be submitted in the first "ICTA-UAB in 100 Words" competition.
We all have a story to tell. So that is why ICTA-UAB encouraged them to submit narrative fictional and/or non-fictional texts related to anything and everything that can happen within the sustainable walls of the ICTA-UAB building, whether that be about research, its members, their anecdotes, and personal experiences.
They were allowed to submit up to 3 narrative texts, either in Spanish, Catalan, or English. The only premise was not to exceed 100 words...
