The visit of Doctor Jane Goodall to the UAB from the 4th to the 7th May 2012 has not leaved us indifferent. More than 400 people listened to the speech that Dr. Goodall hold at the Lecture Hall of the Rectorship, many others had the opportunity to watch the conference through the link at the UAB website and more than seventy people, among which many students of the Environmental Sciences Degree, participated at the Symposium on Primatology and Conservation. In short, the response by the UAB has been massive. The role of ICTA in these events, and also in the Global Meeting of all the Jane Goodall Institutes throughout the world, has been decisive. Dr. Goodall is very satisfied with the meeting and wants to thank ICTA and all the University for making her feel at home during her visit. Particularly, she has wanted to stress the role of different ICTA researchers. Firstly, Doctor Jordi Bartrolí, for having offered the Science Faculty as a scenario for the Global Meeting of the Jane Goodall Institute and for having set the starting point to the meeting with his welcoming speech. In second place, Doctor Martí Boada, for having made the official reception by ICTA and having offered her a seedling of the eldest wild olive tree in Europe as a symbol of the recognition of ICTA to her scientific trajectory. In third place, Doctor Jordina Belmonte, for her introductory speech in the conference ¿Reasons for hope¿ and for having been one of the planners of the meeting. And in fourth place, to all the different Master students and researchers under formation of ICTA that have volunteered and collaborated for making possible this encounter. With the conference by Dr. Goodall, ICTA consolidates once again its role as a catalytic of the environmental discourse in the university community and as an international center of reference in the field of Environmental Sciences. We join the link to the conference ¿Reasons for Hope¿, a divulgation video about the visit of Dr. Goodall to the UAB and different pictures of the reception of Dr. Goodall by different researchers of ICTA. Álvaro Fernández-Llamazares, student of the Master in Environmental Studies and volunteering member of the Jane Goodall Institute Spain.
