Dimitri Roussopoulos, the prominent Canadian author, editor and environmental activist, will be offering the seminar “Political Ecology and Social Ecology - the spectrum from yesterday to today” at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA-UAB), on October, 14.

Dimitri Roussopoulos, the prominent Canadian author, editor and environmental activist, will be offering the seminar “Political Ecology and Social Ecology - the spectrum from yesterday to today” at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA-UAB), on October, 14. Roussopoulos will present his classic book Political Ecology: Beyond Environmentalism which is now available in a new, expanded edition. The book explains the history of environmental politics and its prospects for the future.



Dimitri Roussopoulos has a long experience of over 50 years in social movements. Since the late 1950s, he has been active in peace initiatives, ecology projects, and in the cooperative movement. Since 2001, he leads the Taskforce on Municipal Democracy of the City of Montréal. He is also involved in the World Social Forums and continues to advance the need for an extra-parliamentary opposition in Canada. The seminar will take place from 12.00 to 13.30 (Room Z/022-23, ICTA-ICP Building, Campus UAB) and is organized by the EU funded project European Network of Political Ecology.
