The jury, made up of Miguel Delibes de Castro, as President, Reyes Tirado, Jorge Molina, Antonio Aguilera and Margarita Martín as Secretary, valued the quality of the work presented by Lucas Barrero entitled "El Tinto, un río del wastoceno".

The first prize went to Tadeo Sáez, for his research project "Biodiversity and structure of the microbiota of Andalusian mines".

Being aware of the threat posed by Climate Change and its impact on natural ecosystems, proven by the continuous reports of thousands of scientists from the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and by the Summits and Conferences of the Parties (COP) on Climate, the prize aims to encourage initiatives among young people in Andalusia who are concerned about the future of the Planet.
