Isabelle Anguelovski, National Research Prize for Young Talent 2013
The National Research Prize for Young Talent, awarded by the Government of the Generalitat de Catalonia and the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation, recognizes young researchers who have distinguished themselves during their professional trajectory for the quality and excellence of their work. Isabelle Anguelovski, this year's recipient, focuses her research on poverty and equity problems among groups affected by environmental inequalities in Europe, Latin America, and United States. She has developed an international and multidisciplinary academic and professional career, with an undergraduate degree in Political Studies at the Science Po Institute in Lille (France), a Master's in Development, Cooperation, and Humanitarian Action in the Sorbonne (Paris), a graduate degree in Administration and Management for NGOS at Harvard University (US), and a PhD in Urban Studies and Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, US). In the last two and a half years, she has developed her research career in Barcelona, where, among others, she studies urban initiatives that lead to neighborhood revitalization while promoting environmental justice.
