ICTA-UAB researcher Francesc Baró, awarded by the Social Observatory of "la Caixa
An article by ICTA-UAB researcher Francesc Baró has been awarded by the Social Observatory of “la Caixa”. The article "Urban greening: towards healthier and more resilient cities?" is based in his doctoral thesis, defended in October 2016.
This competition is intended to recognise informative articles of scientific quality in the field of the social sciences in order to support young researchers. The aim of the Awards organised by the “la Caixa” Banking Foundation in memory of Dr Rogel·li Duocastella is to disseminate scientific knowledge that has been developed in recent times around the four spheres of action of the Social Observatory of “la Caixa”: social inclusion, education, science and culture. The prize-winning articles will be published on the website of the “la Caixa” Social Observatory.
Award for the best article in the Social Inclusion field:

Award for the best article in the Education field:
“Are Spanish public universities less efficient than private universities?”, by Eva M. de la Torre García, a doctor in Economics who qualified at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
Award for the best article in the Science field:
“Urban greening: towards healthier and more resilient cities?”, by Francesc Baró, a doctor in Environmental Sciences who qualified at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
