ICTA-UAB “María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence” participates in a meeting with the Pacific Alliance, in Perú
ICTA-UAB Scientific Director, Patrizia Ziveri was visiting Peru last week as part of a delegation of representatives from María de Maeztu and Severo Ochoa research centres in Spain.
The visit to Lima, organised by MINECO, which bestows the two types of Excellence awards, aimed to bring together the top Spanish institutions with those of the Pacific Alliance – Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
Each of the eight Spanish centres presented their research and international strategies, and they had the chance to hear about the same from Pacific Alliance centers, as well as identifying potential synergies. The Pacific Alliance is a regional integration initiative established in 2011 that aims to promote international initiatives such as academic and cultural exchange between the member countries and the rest of the world.
ICTA-UAB received las February the award as a "María de Maeztu" Unit of Excellence 2015 from the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO). The award is the highest institutional recognition of scientific research in Spain.
