European Researchers' Night with visits at ICTA-UAB
The ICTA-UAB joins once again the European Researchers’ Night, the great science festival that brings research, innovation, and its protagonists closer to the public of all ages in a fun and interactive way.
The main activities will take place on Friday, October 2, from 5 to 10 p.m. at the UAB Campus, but this year they also include events taking place off campus beforehand.
Led by the Sostenipra research group at ICTA-UAB, guided tours of the ICTA-UAB building will be offered. There will be one at 6 p.m. and another at 7 p.m.
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover a unique space in Catalonia, where food production is being explored through greenhouses integrated into buildings. The spaces dedicated to hydroponic crops will be open to visitors, who will also be able to see first-hand the synergies between the greenhouses and the building, such as the recovery of rainwater, urine, and compost. This will be a unique opportunity to access the ICTA-ICP building, which has received several architecture awards and environmental certifications for its bioclimatic design.
