European Researchers: Night at ICTA-UAB: escape room, visits, and talks
The ICTA-UAB celebrates once again the European Researchers’ Night, the great science festival that brings research, innovation, and its protagonists closer to the public of all ages in a fun and interactive way.

The main activities will take place on Friday, September 26, from 5:00 to 10:00pm, at the UAB Campus, but this year they also include events prior to the main day outside the campus.
Urgent climate mission: the climate change escape room
Do you dare to escape the climate collapse? Join our climate change escape room at the Eix Central of the UAB and become a true ICTA-UAB Change Agent. You will have to make decisions, overcome challenges, and bet on solutions that can save the planet. Explore five key worlds in the institute’s research: oceans, consumption, land, cities, and politics. Every step counts, and only by working as a team will we succeed!
Visit to the Sostenipra laboratories
Visitors will be able to see a unique space in Catalonia where food production in greenhouses integrated into buildings is experimented with, including hydroponic crops and synergies with the building, such as rainwater, urine, and compost recovery. The visit will allow access to the ICTA-ICP building, recognized with architecture awards and environmental certifications for its biodynamic design.
Pre-event talk: reconnecting with nature
On September 25, one day before the Research Night, the GreenME project will be presented in the talk “Is it possible to reconnect with nature in our daily life?”, led by Carola Domènech Panicello (UOC) and Paula de Prado Bert (UAB-ICTA). The session will take place at 7:00 PM at the Gabriel García Márquez Library (Barcelona) and will explore how contact with nature can improve mental health, foster creativity and social cohesion, and contribute to a fairer and more sustainable society.
Free and open registration. All activities are free, and registration is already open. Don’t miss the opportunity to participate in this celebration of science and sustainability. The future is in your hands!
