Esteve Corbera receives a Special Mention of the City of Barcelona Awards 2017
ICTA-UAB researcher Esteve Corbera was awarded a Special Mention of the City of Barcelona Awards 2017, presented each year by the Barcelona City Council. Esteve Corbera received the mention in the category of "Earth and Environmental Sciences" in a ceremony that took place in the Saló de Cent of the Barcelona City Hall. The jury recognized his work on the forest governance in the context of policies to mitigate climate change.
The aim of the awards is to reward quality creations, research and productions carried out in Barcelona by creators, groups, and by the institutions and organizations from Barcelona who promote or produce them. Award-winning works must contribute to the development of cultural aspects and must be integrated into the citizen fabric in which creators, associations, public institutions and cultural industries participate. For this purpose, the prizes are presented in different categories: Theater; Dance; Circus; Visual arts; Audiovisuals; Music; Popular and Traditional Culture; Translation into Catalan; Literature in Catalan; Literature in Spanish; Media; Agustí Duran i Sanpere of History of Barcelona; Design; Architecture and Urbanism; Life Sciences; Experimental Sciences and Technology; Earth and Environmental Sciences; Essay, Social Sciences and Humanities; and Education.
