ECIU University spring challenges launch event

Over 300 students have signed up for one of the 350 challenged offered by the ECIU University member institutions in this second semester with the aim of tackling local, national and global problems from a challenge-based approach. The UAB organises four such challenges in this edition.

ECIU University spring challenges green

The ECIU University will be celebrating the launch of its second semester challenges with an online event to be held on 11 February from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

Màrius Martínez, Vice Rector for International Relations of the UAB and member of the ECIU University Council, will be in charge of opening the event with a speech on the challenges posed by innovation. 

Following, Andrea Brose and Dorothea Ellinger, members of Universität Hamburg in Germany, will provide an introduction to challenge-based learning. 

After opening the floor for a round of questions, it will be the turn of Trym N. Holbek from the University of Stavanger in Norway, who will offer general information and detail the steps needed to be taken by those interested in participating in the challenges.

Lastly, students from the University of Twente in the Netherlands, Robin Ross and Ivona Glišić, will share their experience as participants in the first semester challenges. 

The event will then end with a game of questions to learn more about those participating. 

The event, which will be moderated by Konstantinos Mitropoulos from Linköping University in Sweden, will include both participating students and lecturers, as well as stakeholders and members of the ECIU community.
