Dr. Alexander Rincón Ruiz has received the prize for 2013 for the best article by a doctoral student in the journal Geoforum

Dr. Alexander Rincón Ruiz of ICTA UAB and now at the Humboldt Institute in Bogota, has received the prize for 2013 for the best article by a doctoral student in the journal Geoforum. His co-author was Georgios Kallis. This is the message to Alexander from Sarah Hall, editor of Geoforum: "As one of the Editors of Geoforum and Chair of the judging panel for the Geoforum Student Paper Competition 2013, I¿m delighted to tell you that your paper `Caught in the middle, Colombia¿s war on drugs and its effects on forest and people¿ has been selected as the winner of this prize for 2013. Very many congratulations. The judging panel were particularly impressed with the intellectual content of the paper and the way in which this was used to take a position on the war on drugs".
