The CAPABLE project has successfully concluded its latest meeting and policy workshop, which took place from 3-5 February in the historic Badia Fiesolana in Florence, Italy. The event brought together leading researchers, policy makers and stakeholders to discuss new developments in climate policy studies and explore future directions.

CAPABLE MEETING

The meeting featured discussions in which leaders of various working groups presented updates on their progress and outlined next steps. Participants coordinated the different areas of work to ensure that the objectives of the project were met.

ICTA-UAB researchers Jeroen van den Bergh, Pablo Núñez Yebra and Ivan Savin actively participated in these discussions on the progress of the project.

One of the main objectives of the workshop was to analyze the impact of research on public policy. Key findings were presented and their implications for climate policy formulation were thoroughly discussed. In a roundtable discussion, project members and invited experts explored strategies for translating research findings into concrete policy measures.

Participants also engaged in idea-sharing sessions to identify new research needs and opportunities for collaboration. Discussions focused on ways to broaden the scope of CAPABLE and secure new funding for interdisciplinary climate policy research.

The outcomes of this workshop will play a crucial role in shaping future research efforts and strengthening the link between academic knowledge and policy formulation. By fostering collaboration between researchers and policymakers, CAPABLE continues to advance the development of effective and equitable climate policies.
