This event will feature the 2023 Holberg Prize Laureate Joan Martinez-Allier and other distinguished speakers. They will discuss current global challenges and the role of global political ecology to understand and tackle these.
Political Ecology is a growing topic among the environmental social sciences and environmental humanities. It covers issues in the Global North and the Global South, such as post-growth economics and environmental conflicts and injustices.
In collaboration with Institut de Ciència i Tecnologia Ambientals (ICTA‑UAB) and held at the Institut d’Estudis Catalans (IEC) in Barcelona, the Holberg Prize will host a discussion on global political ecology and its importance for both Northern and Southern hemispheres.
The event is open for all. In order to minimize food waste, we encourage registration here.
The event is, of course, also open to those not registered. Those unable to attend in person are welcome to watch the livestream on YouTube.
