Specific skills
- Know the portals, indications, and various arthroscopic surgical techniques in wrist surgery.
- Know the indications and different surgical techniques for open surgery (osteosynthesis of fractures, fracture sequelae, arthrodesis, and arthroplasty) in wrist and hand surgery.
- Know the most common orthopedic and traumatic pathology of the hand and wrist, congenital hand, hand tumors, common skin coverage, brachial plexus injury, tendon transfers, nerve paralysis, and peripheral nerve reconstruction surgery.
- Acquire basic knowledge useful for the orthopedic surgeon of skin coverage and microsurgery useful in the reconstruction of soft tissue defects of the wrist, hand, and fingers, techniques often used more by plastic surgery.
- Acquire basic knowledge useful for the orthopedic surgeon of microsurgery. A technique that allows the hand surgeon, among others, to reconstruct the brachial plexus and peripheral nerves.
- Innovation: acquire knowledge of new surgical techniques for repairing different injuries. Surgical techniques that have come to be performed with minimal surgical incision (mini-open) or wrist arthroscopy.
- Acquire the basic concepts of anesthesia in upper limb surgery and postoperative pain control in patients undergoing major outpatient surgery.
- Acquire knowledge of rheumatic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, chondrocalcinosis, etc.) that can affect the wrist and hand, causing instability and degenerative arthropathy.
