The UAB to welcome international students

09/02/2018
From 12 to 17 February, the UAB organises its International Welcome Days, a week dedicated to international students starting the second semester. The objective of this initiative is to help newcomers become familiar with the campus, services offered and student groups at the UAB, as well as meet other local and international students.
During the week students will participate in different workshops and information sessions offered by the Erasmus Student Network, the Language Services, the Observatory for Equality, Cultura en Viu and the Fundació Autònoma Solidària. There will also be an international potluck in which students can bring typical dishes from their country and at the end of the week students will be invited on a guided tour around Barcelona.
The programme will begin on 12 February with an entities fair at the Plaça Cívica and a welcome session at the Cinema Hall, with Màrius Martínez, Vice Rector for International Relations, and Sara Moreno, Vice Rector for Students and Employability. Vice Rector Moreno will present the protocol on cases of harassment and the activities offered under the Tàndem programme. The International Welcome Days will actually serve as the launch of the Tàndem programme, a series of activities in which students can practice different languages and discover other cultures while meeting new people.
