Alumes premiats

On December 1, the Faculty of Sciences of the Autonomous University of Barcelona hosted the second edition of the annual event “Ciència Excel·leix”, aimed at recognizing the most outstanding students of each degree and double degree of the Faculty.

The awards ceremony “Sciences Excelleix” was held in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Sciences. In addition to the winners, the dean of the Faculty, the dean's team, representatives of sponsors, degree coordinators and the families of the winning students were present at an act of recognizing their talent and effort.

In the event, the students of each degree (and double degree) of the Faculty were rewarded. There was already a tradition of awarding prizes in some of the degrees but with this annual event, which began last year, it is intended to unify all the prizes in a unitary act and extend them to all degrees.

The ceremony was presided over by the dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Dr. Juan Jesús Donaire, who opened and closed it; the vice-dean of students and promotion, Dr. Lluís Casas Duocastella, who presented the awards for each degree; and the coordinators of each degree who gave the awards accompanied by representatives of the sponsors in the case of the degrees with business sponsored award.

The sponsoring companies were AILYLABS for the degrees in Mathematics (including double the number of Mathematics and Physics), Computational Mathematics and Data Analytics and Applied Statistics, and the companies SEPMAG and VIBRANTZ TECHNOLOGIES for the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology degree.

In the ceremony, the extraordinary awards were also presented to the graduates of the 2022-2023 academic year. The extraordinary awards are an institutional recognition to the students who have achieved the largest global averages of academic record.

Congratulations to recognised students and their mentors for their contribution to having a quality academic community. We predict future achievements and important academic and scientific contributions.

The Faculty hopes to continue promoting academic growth and excellence in students in the coming years.
