The Catalan Network of Healthy Universities (Xarxa Catalana d’Universitats Saludables) will be handing out a total of six prizes to the three best final projects in bachelor’s degrees (TFG) and the three best in master’s degrees (TFM) related to the promotion of health and the SDGs related to sustainability. The prizes, each consisting of 1,000 euros and a diploma, are available to all students enrolled in a Catalan university belonging to this network, as is the case of the UAB.

The final projects must be related to actions working towards prevention and improvement in three fundamental areas: physical health, nutritional health and emotional wellbeing

Students who presented their TFG or TFM in any of Catalonia’s universities in the 2022/23 academic year can participate and opt for the prize. They must have obtained a score of 9 or above and the final projects could have been presented individually or as a group, and written in Catalan, Spanish or English.

Applications can be sent in from 9 to 27 October 2023.

Each prize consists in a diploma from the Ministry for Research and the Ministry for Health of the Government of Catalonia, as well as a cash prize of 1,000 euros, also awarded by the aforementioned ministries.

A Selection Committee will be set up to choose the three winners of each category from the applications submitted by students of 12 different Catalan universities. The committee will be made up of the Catalan Government’s Secretary General of Public Health or the person representing them, and the Secretary General of the Interuniversity Council or the person representing them, and three academic experts in the area of promotion of health and sustainable development—this edition will include an expert from the University of Barcelona, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.

The Selection Committee will take into account whether the final projects are related to the "SDG 3. Wellbeing and Health", and specifically to the promotion of health. The work areas must be related to the actions carried out by the Catalan Network of Healthy Universities, i.e. actions working towards prevention and improvement in three fundamental areas: physical health, nutritional health and emotional wellbeing.

The prizes will be handed out in an event held on 18 December, and will include a brief presentation of the each of the winning projects.
