Libraries now available on your smartphone

The Libraries phone app offers easy access to the tools needed in research, teaching and learning. The app can be downloaded for viewing on Android, IOS, WPhone, Blackberry and tablets. In addition, a new service only for mobile devices was also made available: a real-time chat.

This service offers easy and quick access to all the resources of the Library Service, from the most common to the most specific ones.

From now on, when entering the service website from a mobile device the version is adapted to the phone's screen, with an easy-to-navigate format which takes into account the most sought-out resources, such as the location of the libraries, contact information and opening hours.

The mobile website offers easy and friendly access to the tools needed in research, teaching and learning: all catalogue services can be consulted (renewals, reservations, bibliographies for the academic year, etc.), the Deposit of Digital Documents and the Digital Library. The complete resources text can also be accessed, as well as sign up for the training sessions offered by the libraries.

In addition, a new service only for mobile devices has been available: a chat in which questions can be asked in real time. This service complements the already existing Pregunt@, through which the most complex bibliographic consultations can be made.

The sections adapted to the new design are: libraries, opening hours, catalogue, UAB Deposit of Digital Documents, Trobador+, bibliographies of the academic year, reservation of areas, Xat, Pregunt@, Twitter, off-campus access and the full website.

The link to this new website is accessed from the Library Services address, given that the system detects that the service is being accessed from a mobile device and redirects users directly to the adapted version: www.uab.cat/biblioteques/m
