Foundations of Onco‑Hematologic Nursing Care
This course introduces advanced concepts and fundamental theories related to nursing care within the oncological and hematological fields. Special emphasis is placed on understanding the physiological, psychological, and emotional processes experienced by patients during cancer treatment, as well as on strategies for managing symptoms and side effects.
Therapeutics in the Person with Cancer
A course focused on the different oncological treatments, both pharmacological (such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, surgery, or radiotherapy) and non‑pharmacological (such as physical exercise or acupuncture). The main oncological pathologies are also covered, exploring the most appropriate therapies for each case. The objective is for students to be able to safely and effectively integrate these therapeutic strategies into patient care plans.
Support and Well‑Being Strategies for the Patient with Cancer
This course addresses the main therapeutic and emotional support interventions for cancer patients and their families, aiming to accompany them throughout the cancer diagnosis and treatment process. Topics include nutrition, sexuality, and emotional management throughout the illness, as well as complementary therapies such as mindfulness and music therapy. The course also includes content on palliative care and the management of tumor wounds. Its aim is to offer a comprehensive perspective focused on improving the patients physical and emotional well‑being and overall quality of life.
Practicum
A hands‑on placement in clinical settings where students can begin applying the theoretical knowledge they have acquired, performing basic interventions under the supervision of healthcare professionals. This initial experience allows students to develop essential clinical skills for the treatment of oncology patients, consolidating and refining their clinical and leadership competencies.
Masters Final Project
Development of an original research project or an innovative practical intervention, supervised by an academic tutor. This project enables students to demonstrate their ability to integrate and apply the knowledge acquired throughout the masters program, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in oncology nursing.
